Pal Payasam
Having something sweet after food makes your day and happy from within. Yesterday I was having a sweet tooth, so thought will make payasam which is everyones favourite :)
Ingredients:
Raw/Brown Rice - 1/3 cup
Milk - 5 cups
Water - 2 cups
Sugar - 1/3 cup
Cardamom Powder - for flavour
Nuts and raisins - for garnish
Prepartion :
Wash the rice properly ans keep aside. Then boil the milk. In a pressure cooker add in the milk, rice and sugar. Then pressure cook till one whistle on medium flame. After that keep the flame on the least low flame and cook for approx 45 mins. When on very low flame, pressure cooker dont whistles. After 40-45 mins switch off flame and open lid once pressure cools down. You will now see a light pink color. Add in the elachi powder and then mix. If you need more thick consistency cook further with open lid. Stir occassionally. I had cooked futher for 15 mins for thick consistency. Add in sugar or cardamom if you need more. Then add in the nuts and raisins fried in ghhe or butter for garnish :). Have it when cooled as it tastes more tastier :).
P.S : You can cook with only milk also if needed.
I would like this send this entry for cooking with seeds event conducted by Priya of easy n tasty recipe.
Cheers,
Neetz ;)
