JEERA RICE

Jeera Rice

One of the easiest and tastiest recipes of rice. Its easy enough to be lunch pack for kids as well as for office :)

Ingredients :

Basmati Rice - 1 cup
Cumin Seeds - 1 tsp
Onion - 1 med thinly sliced
Ginger-Garlic paste - 1/2 tsp
Cinnamon Stick - 1 piece
Green Cardamom - 1 no
Clove - 1 no
Bay Leaf - 1 leaf
Water  -  2.25 cups
Salt

Preparation :Wash and soak the rice in water for 20 mins.

In a pan add little oil and then put in cumin seeds. Once it starts to splutter add in the spices and saute for a minute. then add in the onions and garlic and saute till onions turn brown. Add water and rice. Cover and cook till rice is done and dry. Serve hot with pickle, raitha and achar.

I m sending this recipe for the basics event conducted by Mahima. New cookers can really be easy for them to cook this recipe :)

Cheers,
Neetz ;)

I love Jeera Rice. A little jazzed up version of plain rice and goes oh-so-well with any elaborate sidedish. Love it.
