RAJMA CURRY

Rajma Curry

Rajma is one of the most protien rich food. Mu hubby basically being from north india doesnt prefer Rajma.he hehe..but i love it...especially dal makhni which i m planning to make soon :).. This is the first time I made rajma and wonderfully it turned out superb :)

Ingredients:
Rajma - 1 1/2 cup(soaked overnight)
Jeera - 1 tsp
Onions - 1 large chopped finely
Ginger paste - 1/2 tsp
Garlic paste - 1 1/2 tsp
Tomato - 2 med pureed
Green Chilli - 2 nos pureed with tomatoes
Chillie powder - 1 tsp
Coriander powder - 1 1/4 tbsp
Turmeric powder - 1 tsp
Pepper Powder - 1/2 tsp
Garam masala - 1 tsp
papprika powder - 1/2 tsp (optional)
Salt
Oil

Preparation :

Saok the rajma overnight. Cook the rajma in pressure cooker with salt and water till done.If needed you can mash the rajmas a little. I did that to get thick consistency for the end result. Meanwhile, in a pan add the oil. Once hot add in the jeera and once spluttered, add in the onions and ginger garlic paste and saute till onions turn lightly brown in color. Then add in the tomato and chillie puree and saute. Then add in all the powders except for garam masala and saute till oil leave the sides. Then add in the cooked rajma together with water and saute. Add in the garam masala and then close the lid and cook for 25-40 mins in low flame till the curry becomes thick in consistency. Check salt if needed more. Serve hot with chappati or nan :)

Cheers
Neetz ;)
