Chilli Soya Bean and an Award from Rekha :)

CHILLIE SOYA BEAN

I was planning to make something veggie today... All of my veggies in fridge was over and I was not having any clue what will I make for side dish to have with chappati in evening. When I opened my kitchen cupboard i saw Soya chunks. Suddenly i remembered seeing this in Veena chechis blog about this chunks..So i decided to make and have a try and if succeeded to share with everyone. Thankfully it was super hit in my home and here it is ......

Ingredients:

Soya Bean - around 2 cups
Red Chilly - 2 nos
Onions - 2 nos medium ( chopped in cubes)
Ginger-garlic paste - 1 1/2 tbsp
Capsicum - 1 med (shopped in cubes)
Green Chillie - 2 nos chopped round
Soya Sauce - 2 tbsp
Tomato sauce - 2 1/2 tbsp
Chilli Sauce - 2 tsp
Corn Flour - 1 tbsp dissolved in approx 1 cup water
Salt if needed to taste
Spring Onion for garnishing

Preparation :
Soak the soya chunks in hot water for 30 mins and drain well.. then clean soak for 2 -3 times in repititions and press the soya chunks to remove the stinky smell and as well as its odd taste.

Then heat oil in a pan, add thered chilli, onions, capsicum, green chillie and the ginger garlic paste.. Saute till the onion becomes transparent and the ginger garlic paste's raw smell goes.... Add the soya chunks and saute for around 7 minutes..Add in all the sauces and saute for about one minute in medium flame. Then add in the corn flour mix and saute all the ingredients properly. If more of gravy is needed add in water and close the lid and cook for 10 mins in low flame. By the time its done you will get a good thick gravy.(Check salt if needed). Sprinkle some spring onion on top if and serve hot (I didnt have those with me so couldnt add those).

P.S : You can alter the quantity of sauces according to your flavours :)

Cheers
Neetz ;)
