BLACK EYE BEAN UPPERI/ MEZHYUKUPERUTTI

Black Eye Beans Upperi

This is my hubby's favourite and he would pick and eat one by one... had for lunch today and thought i need to write here and make everyones favourite ;)


Ingredients :
Black beans - 2 3/4 cup
Onion - 1 sliced (med)
Garlic - 4 nos sliced
Green Chillie - 1 (chopped)
Pepper powder - 2 tsp (coarsely grounded)
Turmeric Powder - 1/4 tsp
Chillie powder - 1/4 tsp
Curry Leaves - 2 strings
Salt
Oil




Preparation :


Pressure cook the beans with salt and water for about 3 whistles. Let it cool down. Meanwhile chop and slice all the ingredients. Heat oil in a pan and add sliced onion, garlic and green chillie. Saute till onions become transparent and then add in all the powders and curry leaves and boiled beans. Saute till the desired fryness is obtained on a very low flame. Serve hot with rice and pappad :)



You can add in more of pepper for extra taste and if you can take the spice :)
