It was our dearest friend Anila's wedding anniversary and me and Roshana (my other dear friend :) ) was thinking what we will give her as surprise. Since she and her hubby enjoyed sweets, we decided to make this and we decorated with nuts and extra chocolates on sides. U can say she was in for a real surprise and the expression she had on her face was worth all the efforts we did and very much rewarding :)...
Add ghee in a pan and once hot, roast the nuts and raisins and remove and keep aside. In the same pan add in the grated carrot and saute till carrot gets cooked. Remove and keep aside. Then add milk and bring to boil. Add in the carrot and sugar and cook till carrot absorbs the milk and starts almost leaving the sides. Add in the elaichi powder and garnish with nuts and raisins. Serve warm and enjoy :)
- Once carrot and sugar has been added, cook over low flame..it might take time but its worth it.
- Using whole milk will give more tastier halwa.
I would like to send this over to Niveditas kitchen for the event "CELEBRATE WITH SWEETS" conducted by her
